Every day, rabbits and guinea pigs are left to fend for themselves outdoors (where they will not survive) or face euthanasia in overcrowded shelters. Southeast FL Rabbit Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit and network of dedicated volunteers that works tirelessly to give them a second chance.

Your donation can help us turn heartbreak into hope!

BEFORE

Caspian found his way to a good Samaritan that was saving rabbits from breeders and those who intended to eat them. The rabbits lived colony style outdoors with access to a shed, however the conditions were not ideal and some rabbits began to pass away. So the good Samaritan reached out to local rescues for help.

AFTER

We accepted Caspian into our program in August 2024. He had ear mites and coccidia from living outdoors which we treated, before neutering him so that he could be re-homed. 4 months later, in December 2024 he went on a “Foster-to-Adopt” trial with a very experienced rabbit owning family just in time to spend his first Christmas with his new home!

WE ARE CURRENTLY FUNDRAISING FOR: “Mistletoe”

Mistletoe (a.k.a Missy) was hospitalized December 23th – 26th, 2024 after she aspirated on her dinner time pellets. We were able to successfully administer the “Bunny Heimlich maneuver” to clear her airway after she chocked before rushing her to Vet Emergency Group. We spent the night in the ER with her before transferring her to our primary vet Dr. Pardini in the morning. While hospitalized she received oxygen therapy and x-rays to determine the extent of her lung damage. She is currently receiving neutralization treatments and antibiotics multiple times a day in addition to her usual arthritis pain management. She is a fighter and we are optimistic that she will make a full recovery!

VETERINARY EMERGENCY GROUP INVOICE: $1,074

CONTINUED HOSPITALIZATION WITH DR. PARDINI: $768

TOTAL COST OF MISTLETOE’S LIFE SAVING CARE: $1,842
